Meet Ruth
My own journey with ADHD began when my youngest son was diagnosed in Grade 4. I was determined to learn everything I could about ADHD. I committed myself to supporting him within the school system and became an active advocate throughout those years. It was a rocky road with many setbacks, but I persevered, and he is now living his dream as a musician and successful entrepreneur.
Like many parents supporting a child with ADHD, I ignored all my own symptoms and challenges. After many years, I finally decided to invest in my own ADHD assessment. It was a profound moment when I received the results. Suddenly, my life made sense. And I became determined to understand and accept my ADHD so that I could use its gifts in service to myself and others who were struggling.
I have an undergraduate degree from McMaster University and a graduate degree from Dalhousie University. I fully support accredited coach training and credentialing. Because coaches do not have a formal licencing body, it is vital that a coach’s training is recognized by the International Coaching Federation, the gold standard in coaching certification. I have earned this certification and remain an active member. I actively engage in continuing education on coaching and ADHD. As a former librarian, community developer, advocate, and professional organizer, I bring a multitude of flexible skills to support our work together, along with warmth, creativity and humour. I want to create a positive place for you to navigate your own journey to an empowered and healthy life.
On personal note: I have a family of three adult children (2 with ADHD) and a wonderful posse of grandchildren from toddler to teenager. Formerly from Ottawa, Ontario, my spouse and I live with two cats and a dog in beautiful Moncton, New Brunswick, the traditional unceded territory of the Wolastoqiyik (Maliseet) and Mi’kmaq Peoples.
